Chapter 8
Itâs the need to relieve myself that has me waking up, groggily. It takes a minute to realize that my entire body is throbbing, especially my lower area. I whimper and try to move and itâs then that I discover that Iâm lying on top of a very male body with muscled arms holding me close.
The diner. Finn. The way heâ
My cheeks flush as I recall the night in perfect detail. âOh dear God!â
âWrong name, Darlinâ,â he states in a sleepy voice.
Now, in the dim light of the office, I see him watching me, his eyes tired. âGo back to sleep.â
His chest is bare and it feels nice, so I donât want to move. But my bladder is screaming and I canât stop blushing for some reason. âI need toâ¦â I look in the direction of the washroom.
Finn sighs, releasing me, âCome back after. Itâs cold and youâre my blanket.â
I ignore his words and stand up.
Or at least I try to stand up.
My legs arenât having it and I crumple to the cold floor, a dazed laugh escaping me.
Finnâs on his feet almost instantly, alarmed. âWhatâs wrong?â
I canât stop laughing for some reason, as I am so completely bewildered. âI think â I think I canât walk.â
His lips crack into a grin.
Suddenly, my laughter dissolves. âWhat are you smiling about? You did this to me.â
He sobers up and I know itâs an act. His arm comes around my very naked waist and he helps me stand, taking on most of my weight.
It takes me a few seconds to find my feet and I push him away, stumbling to the washroom.
Once Iâm done with my business, I take a look at myself in the mirror and my eyes widen in horror. There are fading bluish purple marks all over my chest and neck.
Damn Irish bastard.
When I exit and see the smug look on his face, I know heâs aware of what heâs done. âI hope youâre proud of yourself.â My lips are turned downward.
He pulls on my cheeks, looking too damn cheerful. âImmensely.â
âNow, Iâll have to wear a turtleneck.â
âIâm sure thatâs not necessary.â Finn trails a finger over one of the marks. âThey look very appealing.â
I raise a brow. âYou just want everyone to see them.â
He smiles, innocently.
I huff. But itâs all for show because I see the mark as my fingers have left on his shoulders and they please me. I tug on my bra and panties, and search for my blouse.
Heâs already wearing his pants and lounging on the couch, his arms spread over the back of it, looking too relaxed. âWhyâre you getting dressed?â
I glance at the clock. âBecause itâs two in the morning and Iâd like to sleep in a bed. Put your shirt on.â
Finn isnât that willing to leave but I manage to drag him to the car. He looks thoughtful as I drive, a strange expression on his face. âI thought you threw out everything I gave you.â
My hands tighten on the wheel but I donât say anything.
